The Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform tells MHProNews the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Affairs (HUD) has released figures indicating August becomes the thirteenth consecutive month of growth for the production of manufactured homes. Statistics indicate HUD Code manufacturers produced 5,580 homes in Aug., an increase of 7.5 percent over the Aug. 2011 figures of 5,187 homes. Total industry production for 2012 equals 37,516 units, a 17.2 percent increase over the 32,015 HUD Code homes produced for the same period for 2011. Texas continues as the top shipment state with more than double the number of homes received by the second state, Louisiana. Rounding out the top five are Alabama, Florida, and North Carolina.
